The mood is red. The moves are blue.
Over the last few years The Fondue Set have cut a riotous swath through the pubs, clubs and theatres of Sydney.
In previous works this unusual trio have taken us on a bumpy ride through the world of the female psyche. In their work, Blue Moves, they continue to explore this theme, this time treading a finer line between laughter and tragedy. From their first work Evening Magic, through Soft Cheese and Love and Other Indoor Sports, audiences at Club Kooky, The Hopetoun Hotel, The Old Fitzroy Hotel, The Seymour Centre and The Performance Space have all succumbed to the humour & charm of these three fabulous dancers. Their recent appearances at Dance Tracks #4 at The Studio Sydney Opera House in collaboration with DJ Endorphin & at the Crown & Anchor Hotel as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival spread their notoriety even wider.
In previous works this unusual trio have taken us on a bumpy ride through the world of the female psyche. In their work, Blue Moves, they continue to explore this theme, this time treading a finer line between laughter and tragedy. With this work they explore the horror and humour of violence on and by women. With a nod to David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock, Blue Moves follows bloody footsteps down the garden path and around the corner, to find a darker more turbulent world. They visit female architypes from the worlds of film noir, thriller and horror movies - the Femme Fatal, the Damsels in Distress - and play with notion of woman as helpless victim. Is that woman running away from something.... or is she running towards someone with malicious intent?

Was performed: March 6 - 8 and 12 - 15, 2003 Downstairs Theatre, Seymour Centre, Chippendale
