One Extra is dedicated to the development and presentation of contemporary dance and dance theatre that confronts, challenges and entertains audiences. We have an ongoing commitment to the support of Australian choreographers and performers and foster associations with particular dance artists to assist in the development of their work and careers. One Extra, through ReelDance, is also committed to the development, promotion and presentation of dance on screen; a form that offers artists flexibility, portability and a source of inspiration & experimentation both within the creation of dance film and the production of live work.

One Extra is an incorporated body limited by guarantee.
It has a board of directors, an Executive Producer - Amanda Card, a Project Manager/Administrator - Pip Dennis, and a ReelDance Curator - Erin Brannigan. Choreographers, dancers, designers, composers, technical/marketing staff and crew are employed on a project by project basis.

The company develops and creates new work, stages retrospectives, a biennial film festival, and dance and film workshops. We provide the security, space and time needed for a diverse group of independent artists to realise their particular visions. The company's Executive Producer and board invites particular choreographers and dance directors to join the company as affiliated artists. These artists return regularly to work with the company and contribute to the stability and continuity of One Extra's core business - the development and realisation of dance for public performance and the promotion of dance on screen. The Executive Producer, also acts as a mentor to artists, assisting choreographers in what ever way is necessary to help them realise their work in a stable, supportive and stimulating environment.
